Huawei has helped the Polish government deploy what it is billing as the world's first 3.6-GHz to 3.8-GHz eLTE network.

Covering wide rural areas of the Ozaworice region, the new network provides internet access to local residents.

Huawei provided a customized eLTE solution for this project, to address the challenge of limited available spectrum resources.

The vendor deployed distributed base stations that can be installed onto walls or poles as well as the company's eCSN600 core network equipment.

The network offers sufficient bandwidth to provide smooth internet connections for local residents over a distance of 100 km, Huawei said.
