HKT Payment has collaborated with HEYCOINS to allow Tap & Go customers to convert local coins into mobile wallet stored value instantly.
Under the collaboration HEYCOINS kiosks will be enhanced with a new user interface designed to allow Tap & Go customers to top up their mobile wallets more easily.
HEYCOINS kiosks will be available at the HKT flagship store and designated csl shops as well as accessible locations such as the MTR stations in Kowloon Bay and Shatin, shopping centers such as Fashion Walk in Causeway Bay and D2 Place in Lai Chi Kok, as well as a number of public housing estates.
During a promotional period Tap & Go customers will be eligible for HK$20 extra value when they top up at least HK$200 at HEYCOINS kiosks.
HEYCOINS has been established to bring economic benefits by recycling coins, removing coins from unwanted circulation and reducing the massive manufacturing cost of coins on behalf of the government by enabling the return of the stored coins back into circulation.
There is currently no charge for using coins to top up e-wallets or purchase gift vouchers, but an option to donate the coins to charity carries a 10% charge at the kiosk. Transactions are limited to a maximum top-up of HK$3,000 per account per day.
