Global Music signs deal with China Unicom

(Wireless News via NewsEdge) US-based Global Music International, a provider of independent music video content to the global wireless telecom industry, announced that it has entered into a partnership agreement with China Unicom, for joint development of China Unicom's wireless music services and broadcast of its music video content throughout China Unicom's cellular network.

China Unicom Newspace, a subsidiary of China Unicom, and is responsible for the operation of China Unicom's wireless music services and market activities.

China Unicom currently has over 135 million mobile subscribers and is ranked the third largest mobile carrier worldwide.

The mobile digital music platform developed by China Unicom for both GSM and CDMA networks can support a variety of music services such as ringtone download, ringback tones, IVR, song dedications, and on-demand music video.

The agreement also covers distribution of Global's music video programming, on a monthly subscription basis, for broadcast on mobile phones.
