Gemalto is deploying its Dexxis Instant Issuance solution in Indonesia to enable on-the-spot delivery of secure microprocessor-based banking cards.
Gemalto is working with local partner SAI (Smart Aplikasi Indonesia), an affiliate of IT network solutions provider Alita.
The deployment is aimed at cost-effectively reaching with microbanking services a market where 90% are unbanked and dispersed among 17,500 islands.
Gemalto’s solution is decentralized instant card issuance – in-person, in-branch, and in a matter of minutes – using EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) smart cards, servers, software, printers, and training to deploy the solution over a secure TCP/IP trusted network in the banking and retail environment.
