Huawei secures a network expansion supply contract from the Netherlands KPN Mobile. Under the deal, Huawei expand the core circuit and packet switched network it has earlier installed for KPN Mobile.

NTT DoCoMo completes its acquisition of some 760,500 shares, or approximately 3% of total issued and outstanding shares, in Nippon Television Network Corporation. DoCoMo has already been working with NTV to provide services converging mobile communications and broadcasting.

Softbank Mobile
plans to launch a new fee plan on January 16 with a monthly base fee of 980 yen ($8.26) with the aim of securing a large number of users. The base fee under the plan called 'White Plan' is considerably lower than the cut-rate price of 2,880 yen ($24.27) offered under the 'Gold Plan' which the company introduced last October.
