ZTE rolls out a full set of terminal products based on HSDPA, a mobile communication technology beyond 3G. HSDPA, an upgraded version of the W-CDMA 3G standard which is currently being deployed around the world, enables a downlink peak rate of up to 10.8Mbps based on the existing W-CDMA network structure.

Vodafone Australia deploys an upgraded platform for customer interaction, which includes new speech-enabled, self-service applications. The company said that it has introduced the new platform, called "Lara," to enhance it automated customer service capabilities, improving ease of use and streamlining the customer service experience.

Hong Kong-based Artificial Life launches the V-boy game with 3 Hong Kong, the mobile telecommunications operation of Hutchison Telecommunications International. The game is now available at 3 Hong Kong's game portal 'V-dates channel' providing customers with a virtual mobile dating channel.

Qualcomm announces that effective immediately, Dr. Sanjay K. Jha has been named COO, while industry veteran Len J. Lauer has joined the firm as a corporate EVP and as group president overseeing key divisions.
