Indian operator Tata Comm has launched its portfolio of Ethernet services into China in partnership with IT provider China Enterprise Communications (CEC).

IVT has opened a mobile health service in China, Mhealthservice.com, offering a remote medical monitoring kit, including a specially-designed handset and vital sign monitoring devices.

Singapore's M1 has launched its MiFi 2352 series of portable wireless hotspots. The pocket-sized routers can provide mobile broadband connectivity for up to five devices.

The Conexus Mobile Alliance said India's BSNL and MTNL and Thailand's TrueMove have introduced a cap on data roaming fees, as part of a regional initiative which now has the support of eight Asian operators.

Japan's mobile industry suffered from its 13th straight month of shipment declines in July, with sales slumping 30% to 2.62 million units, according to electronics industry group JEITIA.

Hackers attempted to take down the website of Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd last night, but their DDoS attacks only managed to crash the site for a few minutes.
