Statistics New Zealand reports that Internet broadband subscriber numbers in the country increased nearly 30% in the last six months. The total number of Internet subscribers was almost 1.4 million, the research firm also said.

Huawei Technologies partners with Digicel Group to deliver a cdma2000 1xEV-DO network in the Caribbean. The deal will allow the Caribbean's largest GSM mobile operator to provide international roaming and mobile data services to its CDMA customers, the firm said.

BSNL rolls out its multi-play services on a telecom platform in Pune. BSNL said Pune is the country's first city to offer services including IPTV and video-on-demand services using BSNL's broadband network.
