Qualcomm has opened a multi-million dollar R&D Center in Shanghai. It will focus on advancing chipset solutions to better address China’s increasing need for high quality and affordable 3G handsets.
InterDigital, CapiSemi ink 3G pact
Capital Semiconductor and InterDigital said they have entered into a strategic relationship for 3G technology transfer and a mutually beneficial licensing agreement. InterDigital will deliver its SlimChip modem core for integration into CapiSemi’s chips for 3G mobile devices.

P1 picks ZTE for network rollout
Packet One Networks (P1) awarded to ZTE a full turnkey contract for the third phase of its Wimax network expansion. The $76-million deal will ensure that 65% of Malaysians can access P1 W1MAX by 2012.
