Optus and Macquarie Radio Network announce a partnership to offer Optus customers with a new mobile podcasting service called Mobile Cellcasting. Optus said the deal is the first such service in Australia

Thailand's True selects solutions provider Redback Networks to provide True with multi-service edge routers as part of the carrier's upgrade effort of its broadband IP network infrastructure. RedBack will provide its SmartEdge platform for the project, True said.

BenQ Siemens says it plans to beef up marketing efforts in the UAE with the launch of BenQ's latest mobile phones. A recent study shows that as at the end of 2005 there were 4.5 million phone connections in the UAE, marking a 23% increase over 2004.
