Nokia says it has agreed with Microsoft to integrate Live Search capabilities into Nokia's Mobile Search. Phone users will now have access to Live Search directly from their Nokia N-series multimedia phones and other compatible Nokia phones using Series 60 software, Nokia said.

NEC reports that it has completed interoperability testing on a commercial GPRS/W-CDMA network in Japan and London. NEC conducted the tests using Qualcomm mobile phones and NEC's location-information systems.

Huawei secures a deal from South African carrier Comium Mobile to build its GSM network in Cote d'Ivoire. The contract includes providing a full turnkey GSM, GPRS, 3G and Intelligent Network in Cote d'Ivoire, the firm said.

South Korean wireless solutions firm WiderThan unveils two new 3G personalization services, Caller Tag and Photo SMS. The company said the services use global mobile standards and are now available for wireless carriers in the US and Europe, Middle East and Africa.
