Microsoft launches Internet 7, or IE7, the first major upgrade to its Web browser software. The new version features tabbed browsing, an anti-phishing toolbar, a redesigned interface, and a variety of security features, including increased protection against rogue ActiveX controls.

Cgogo Technology, a mobile search engine solution provider, launches its Internet video search service with online video frame clustering technology to the Chinese market. This service also realized data-sharing between the PC and the mobile handset, the firm said.

Telecom New Zealand selects Volantis to supply the carrier with intelligent content adaptation solutions for mobile Internet services. Telecom New Zealand said it was launching a broad selection of content to complement the company's data services offering.
