Malaysian operator Maxis and Western Union have launched a service that allows users to send money across borders via mobile phone.

Mobile email provider Synchronica has won its first contract in South East Asia, and will supply its mobile gateway and backup apps for an unnamed operator with over 30 million subscribers.

Motorola said it had provided the first live 2.6GHz TD-LTE trial, deploying a network on the streets of Geneva to support China Mobile's presence at ITU Telecom World 2009.

Chinese vendor ZTE has signed an agreement to supply mobile phones for Hutchison subsidiaries in Sweden, the UK and Ireland.

Fujitsu has been contracted to develop an LTE phone for NTT DoCoMo.
