LG plans to invest $50 million in its Mexican unit in a bid to help it sell more than 3 million handsets next year. Mexico is home to 3 LG handset plants, which should see a large portion of the investment sum, though a specific breakdown was not available.

Tata Indicom signs an advertising deal with Mast Mobile Media, an India-based mobile entertainment company. As part of this relationship, Mast Mobile Media will provide Tata Indicom with ad-serving technology for its Brew and WAP data services via Mast Mobile Media's advertising engine.

Qtel launches 3G mobile roaming services in collaboration with Maxis Malaysia, as part of efforts of beaming the ongoing Doha Games. Qtel said its 3G roaming services have also been partially launched with SK Telecom, Smart Philippines, Smartone-Vodafone Hong Kong and NTT DoCoMo Japan.
