LG Philips develops the industry's first LCD panel for next-generation mobile phones, allowing a clearer playback of video clips. The firm said its new 2-inch display would open the door to 'exciting mobile entertainment possibilities.'

Softbank begins offering an Apple Computer iPod nano packaged with one of its own mobile phones. The new promotion is designed to keep customers for at least two years as Softbank would require them to refund the cost for the handsets if they cancel their subscription within the period.

KT signs a strategic partnership agreement with Amicus Wireless Technology, a semiconductor start-up company focused on chipsets optimized for mobile stations, for the joint development of wave-2 mobile WiMAX.
