Hutchison Telecom launches mobile services in Vietnam powered by cdma2000 technology. The new company, which will be called HT Mobile, is a joint venture between Hutchison and Hanoi Telecom.

British microchip designer CSR plans to make an all-in-one GPS and Bluetooth chip for mobile gadgets. CSR earlier acquired two GPS specialists, which will help the firm develop the all-in-one chip.

Arris and Tandberg sign a deal to combine the two companies through an acquisition of all outstanding Tandberg shares by Arris. The firms said the combined company will offer voice, video and data over any network and to any device.
