HTCexpects US handset sales to grow by at least 50% this year to around 6 million phones. It has forecast worldwide sales growth of around 20%.

Google has opened its Google Voice service up to new users, starting with users who had requested an invitation. The company recently reserved 1 million phone numbers.

Tata Comm and BT have signed a voice service agreement whereby each will become the others\' primary supplier of IDD termination services outside their own markets.

Submarine cable operator PIPE Networksconfirmed its earnings guidance for the year ending in June. The company will post a profit of around A$11 million ($8.81 million) on revenue of $48 million.

AT&T has partnered with Cooper Power Systems to jointly sell smart grid sensor devices to utility companies.
