Google plans to open its first Southeast Asia R&D hub to be located in Singapore. The firm, quoted by local media, said it chose Singapore because of its 'very vibrant' info-communications and technology environment.

Shin Satellite says it will launch a video-on-demand service in Australia. The operator is teaming up with ReelTime Media, an Australian broadband TV company, to offer a variety of video content via Shin Satellite's IPStar broadband satellite.

Gaming giant Electronic Arts starts offering music from its titles through Apple's iTunes store. The move from EA comes as game makers explore ways to use the Internet to distribute, sell and market games and other content, reports said.
