Google unveils a plan to let employees sell their stock options in online auctions.

The Internet giant said the program was an innovative way for Google to lure talented workers because it gave them a new way to cash in on discounted stock-buying opportunities that are common perks in the industry.

Gartner reports that SMS or "text" messages sent to and from mobile phones will more than double over the next five years to 2.3 trillion messages sent by 2010. The number of messages transmitted in 2005 was estimated at 936 billion, according to British market, the firm said.

Siemens says it is bullish on the growth prospects for its fixed-line and broadband businesses in 2007 in Thailand. The ambitious forecast is based on the recent merger between the fixed-line communications equipment businesses of Siemens and Nokia.
