BOLT users get free apps via GetJar
GetJar has partnered with Bitstream to offer users of the latter’s BOLT mobile browser immediate access to GetJar’s entire library of more than 70,000 free mobile applications. Bitstream CEO Anna Magliocco-Chagnon said the two firms will split any revenue generated through the download of sponsored premium apps.
China Mobile launches converged multimedia apps
China Mobile has tapped Nokia Siemens Networks to implement its IMS Core platform, hiQ MMTel application server and Session Border Controller to introduce this converged communications experience. Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy the platform and the application for China Mobile’s enterprise customers in Beijing, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Xinjiang, Hunan and Fujian.
Saffron Digital, Widevine team up on connected TV
Saffron Digital is working with Widevine to extend its support for connected TV services that are adopting Widevine, and also to develop further its solutions for Apple and Android devices. Sonic Solutions and Widevine have teamed up to combine Widevine's digital rights management and adaptive streaming technologies with Sonic's RoxioNow entertainment platform. The expanded device support will help increase the reach of retail partner storefronts with efficient, secure, and optimized delivery of movies and other video content to smartphones.
