Thailand's DTAC plans to float shares in the country stock exchange as part of effort to raise more capital. Reports said the carrier is aiming to generate at least $172 million from the listing.

Internet and phone firm Orcon formally enters the New Zealand market to compete directly with local carriers. The firm said it has rolled out Orcon Homeline, a service allowing consumers to get all their home phone services, from Internet, phone and tolls, without losing their existing phone number.

Microsoft announces that it is combining its search and advertising development teams, as part of a plan to compete more directly with other Internet search firms. The firm said the group will focus on developing services centered on online search and advertising.
