China Voice Holding secures additional contracts to provide its integrated Internet telephony and office automation solutions to Chinese government agencies. The contracts, worth around $30 million, also call for software development services to support new applications, the company said.

IBM announces it has become a member of the WiMAX Forum, an industry-led organization driving the global adoption of standards-based, interoperable WiMAX products for the delivery of broadband mobile Internet services. IBM says it wants to continue to support WiMAX as it evolves.

Silicon Valley firm Midomi rolls out Melodis, a test version of online karaoke Web site Midomi, where amateurs can record songs, buy original versions and find music. Visitors to Midomi.com can seek out songs by title or use computer microphones to sing, whistle or hum what they know of the tunes and let the Web site match it to music in the company's data base, reports said.
