China Telecom plans to initially build a 3G network in southeastern China and in some medium and large cities in the mainland before doing a nationwide rollout.

Samsung starts shipping 1GB and 2GB samples of moviNAND, an embedded combination of NAND flash memory, multimedia card controller and onboard firmware, to leading manufacturers of mobile products.

Nokia unveils three new mobile handsets, the 7390, 7373 and 7360, to boost its new fashion lineup. It has also launched a new version of its 8800 model, the Sirocco edition, with exclusive music from Brian Eno.
