The Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) launches the CASBAA Mobile Group, a team of CASBAA members dedicated to the effective, business-model focused deployment of Mobile TV services across the Asia Pacific. The announcement was made during the first plenary day of the CASBAA Convention 2006 in Hong Kong.

Yahoo plans to give users an easier way to organize, search for and share favorite sites or Web pages, the company said. It is also introducing a simplified version of the Yahoo toolbar that features a one-click way to bookmark Web pages.

Mozilla releases a new version of its Firefox Web browser as a free alternative to Microsoft's ubiquitous Internet Explorer software. In the two years since its release by the nonprofit Mozilla Foundation, the Firefox browser has won millions of devotees worldwide.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group announces the availability of an updated qualification program for member products designed with Bluetooth wireless technology. The improved program better ensures interoperability among devices, verifies conformance to Bluetooth specifications and strengthens the Bluetooth SIG's ability to enforce compliance.
