BT activates a new multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) node in Chennai, India. The firm said the node, which is part of its 21st Century Network (21CN) program, will serve as a main landing point for sub sea cables, and the firm's IP backbone in India.

Sohu.com unveils plans on media collaboration and other key programs in conjunction with Sohu's role as the official Internet sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The firm disclosed that it will implement more than 20 key programs, together with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

Nokia reports that the Nokia N95 started shipping in key European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets, with expanded shipments to other markets in those regions in the coming weeks. The Nokia N95 is an all-in-one multimedia computer with a 2-way slide design, integrated GPS functionality, a 5 megapixel camera and support for high-speed mobile networks, the firm said.
