Equinix is continuing to expand its Asian footprint, announcing plans for a new $70 million Tokyo data center.
The 79,600 square-foot center, its third in Tokyo, is expected to be completed in mid-2011.
It will have direct fiber connectivity to Equinix’s two other centers in the city, and direct connections to more than 50 international and domestic carriers.
Located in central Tokyo close to the financial district, it offers 960 cabinet equivalents.
Equinix this year has built a new $63 million data center in Hong Kong and expanded its Tokyo, Sydney and Singapore facilities.
