DIRECTV signed with Amdocs a 5.5-year extension through December 2017 of the provision of software and services.
Under the new agreement, Amdocs will assume broader responsibility for managing DIRECTV's billing operations, going beyond systems development and support to include the full billing lifecycle.
By creating a single point of accountability and improving operational efficiencies, Amdocs will help DIRECTV sharpen its competitive advantage.
"This expanded agreement with DIRECTV result(s) in improved operational efficiencies for DIRECTV and an enhanced experience for its 20 million customers," said Brian Shepherd, group president for Amdocs.
