Deutsche Telekom Asia CEO Calvin Lee died yesterday while competing in the annual Singapore triathlon.
Lee, 42, reportedly got into difficulties about 350 meters from the finish line of the 1.5-km swimming leg of the triathlon.
A race marshall called a jet ski but he was unconscious when rescued and paramedics failed to revive him.
Singapore-born Lee had been with Deutsche Telekom Asia for 12 years. The company is the regional carrier sales and wholesale arm of the German incumbent.
Lee was a graduate of the National University of Singapore and had an MBA from the Chicago Booth School of Business.
Police said they were investigating the incident as an “unnatural death.”
