Small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) in China experienced strong growth across all cloud services, as business growth and increasing internet access in China drives more firms to enter cloud services market.
In a report, Parallels, a hosting and cloud services enablement provider, said China’s SMB cloud services market grew 54% during the past year, with both business growth and increasing internet access in China.
The report estimates the Chinese SMB cloud services market to reach 16.7 billion yuan ($2.6 billion) in 2013, a 54% increase from 10.8 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) in 2012.
Parallels believes that this rapid growth in the Chinese SMB cloud market is driven by the combination of current users and new adopters of cloud services as they continue to increase their use of communication, collaboration and business applications in four specific categories: infrastructure as a service (IaaS), web presence and web applications, hosted communication and collaboration, and online business applications (also known as software as a service, or SaaS).
