(SinoCast via NewsEdge) The number of fixed-line subscribers in China has reached 370 million, current data from China's Ministry of Information Industry said.
The ministry also said China's mobile phone user base totaled 440 million, bringing the country's total telephone volume at more than 800 million.
The Ministry of Information Industry also reported that from July to September, China's telecommunication industry "grew up smoothly."
Insiders revealed that the revenues from China's postal and telecom business had reached 527.85 billion yuan ($67 billion) during this period, surging 11.7% year-on-year.
At the same time, the third-quarter financial report of China Mobile, the largest mobile communication operator in China, shows that the communication operator had presented an outstanding performance during this period.
By the end of September, the total amount of its subscribers had hit 280 million. Furthermore, the figure is expected to surpass 300 million by the end of this year.
