Chinese carriers report jump in subscriber numbers

(SinoCast via NewsEdge) The three largest telecommunications operators in China reported significant increase in the number of their customers in November.

According to data released by the carriers, 4.67 million new users of China Mobile were added in November, rising by 80,000 on a monthly basis.

China Telecom received 690,000 new users with an increase of 30,000 users on a monthly basis. The carrier's total customers had numbered 222.4 million until the end of November.

China Unicom meanwhile reported 930,000 new customers, pushing its total number of GSM users to 105 million until the end of November, compared with the total number of 104 million until the end of October.

China Unicom's CDMA users had totaled 36.13 million until the end of November, 373,000 more than that until the end of October. The total number of its user had reached to 141.1 million until the end of November.
