(SinoCast via NewsEdge) China's business to customer (B2C) market will reach 2.9 billion yuan ($361 million) this year, a report from CCW Research said.
The domestic research firm also said China's B2C market reached 1.3 billion yuan ($162 million) in 2004, and is expected to reach 2 billion yuan ($249 million) last year.
However, the country's B2C market at present is still in a fragmented state, in which the two leading operators, dangdang.com and joyo.com, take up a share of just less than 30%, while a number of small-scale operators take the remaining shares, the research report said.
With the gradual business expansion of the two companies, B2C operators are predicted 'to see a more concentrated market,' the CCW Research report further said.
