China Unicom has arranged to use the Telit deviceWISE IoT platform to streamline the process of integrating and managing IoT devices and applications.
China Unicom IoT Co. Ltd, the IoT subsidiary of the Chinese telco, awarded a contract to Telit for the project recently, according to a company statement.
Telit said the operator will leverage the deviceWISE IoT platform to support the rapidly expanding deployment and device management needs of their growing install base.
According to Telit, China Unicom IoT is providing IoT services to 20,000 industry customers with 100 million connected devices.
Telit said its IoT platform will help Unicom to address the industrial IoT market by providing the ability to natively connect the vast array of industrial assets and machines, thereby giving manufacturing companies the data they need to improve productivity.
By eliminating the need for custom coding and other expensive, time-consuming integration tasks, the platform will enable faster and easier deployment of IoT applications and services, the company added.
“Facing the rapid growth of the number of devices, we believe that through the new relationship with Telit, our customers can enjoy more efficient business development, better service experience and higher value returns, " China Unicom IoT general manager Chen Xiaotian said.
