For the first half of the year, Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. registered revenue of HK$475 million ($61.1 million), including a one-time receipt of HK$46 million ($5.9 million) for early termination of a contract. In the same period last year, revenue was at HK$445 million ($57.2 million).
Excluding the one-time receipt, recurring revenue was down by HK$16 million ($2.1 million).
Profit attributable to equity holders was placed at HK$239 million ($30.7 million), up 29% from the HK$185 million ($23.8 million) posted in the same period last year. The increase was due largely to the one-time receipt and to higher interest income.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization margin increased to 79% from 77% in 2005, also due to the one-time receipt. Net cash flow was pegged at HK$183 million ($23.5 million) from HK$96 million ($12.3 million) last year.
