Radio spectrum is one of the scarcest natural resources. Both the public and the private sectors have shown an increasing concern about the use of spectrum. It is the local authority's responsibility to ensure the right allocation of the frequency to satisfy different users. The emergence of digital broadcast and digital communication technologies brings new impact and call for revamping the spectrum policy.
In April 2009, IETHK lined up the authority and major industry players to deliver the Spectrum Management and Policy Symposium 2009 . The Symposium was enormously received by the public and those who concern the spectrum utilization. With a highly positive feedback, the organizing committee members reconvene again for the Asia Pacific Radio Spectrum Conference 2010 to be held in Hong Kong from April 8 to 9, 2010.
