The yearly downloads for mobile applications with augmented reality will reach about 1.4 billion worldwide by 2015 from just over 11 million last year, according to Juniper Research.
Juniper Research said in a new report the increasing focus on incorporating augmented reality (AR) elements within mobile applications will lead to such growth.
Annual revenues from mobile AR apps and services are expected to approach $1.5 billion by 2015, up from less than $2 million in 2010.
