OSS and CRM vendor Amdocs has agreed to pay C$211 million ($215.1 million) to acquire BSS vendor Bridgewater Systems.

Canada's Bridgewater Systems provides policy, subscriber management and network control solutions.

Amdocs said it planned to use the purchase to add data management capabilities to its Customer Experience Systems portfolio.

The goal is to bridge the gap between BSS and the network with systems incorporating network-level information into the data.

The C$8.20 per share purchase price represents a 30% premium to Bridgewater's closing price on Thursday, the day before the deal was announced. Net of Bridgewater's cash, the deal is worth C$128 million.

The deal requires shareholder approval, but shareholders owning around 35% of the company have agreed to endorse it.

News of the agreement comes days after Ericsson announced plans to pay $1.15 billion to acquire OSS/BSS vendor Telcordia.
