A total of 20 operators in 15 countries have launched 300Mbps Category 6 LTE-Advanced services, according to GSA figures.
Commercial Cat 6 LTE-A networks are in operation in South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Austria, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
A further 22 Cat 6 LTE-A networks are being deployed or at the trial phase, translating to 42 operators in 24 countries investing in the technology, the GSA said.
There are also nine 450Mbps Category 9 LTE-A networks in deployment or trial phases in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Portugal, Qatar, Turkey, Switzerland, the UAE and the UK, and capabilities well beyond Cat 9 have been demonstrated in various multi-band, multi-mode LTE-A trials.
The GSA revealed earlier this month that there were 360 LTE networks in commercial operation worldwide by the end of 2014, including 107 LTE-Advanced networks.
Of these, 49 operators have launched LTE-A carrier aggregation networks in 31 countries.
