The Europa League will take a new format this season, just like the Champions League. The League, which used to be a 32-team tournament, will now have 36 teams. The new format will have a single league table, where each team will play eight matches against different home and away opponents. The first eight teams will make the round of 16, and the teams that make the ninth up to the twenty-fourth position will play a two-legged knockout to add another eight teams to the round of 16.
