Turkish female referee Elif Karaarslan has denied any involvement in a sex tape allegedly featuring her and an official almost three times her age, Orhan Erdemir, a Süper Lig referee inspector after they were both sanctioned by the Turkish Football Federation.
Bet Turkey Super Lig on Bet365An earlier report stated that Turkish referee Elif Karaarslan, 24, was involved in a scandal after a private video featuring her and FIFA inspector Orhan Erdemir, aged 61, was leaked. The sex tape video quickly spread on social media, leading the Turkish Football Federation to suspend both individuals from their officiating roles. Karaarslan was intially hit with a 90-day suspension, while Erdemir was handed a 45-day suspension from football-related activities.
Erdemir has been constantly accused of having a big impact on Karaarslan’s rapid career development, as the referee has recently officiated a significant number of important matches.
But the TFF, Turkey's FA, has now banned both pairs from football-related activities, according to a report by the Sun, as a result of the alleged emergence of the sex tape. Karaarslan, in response to the TFF ban, claims that it will be a long road ahead legally, but she will overcome it in the strongest
'I will have a long road ahead legally, but will overcome in the strongest and most robust way,' 'I look forward to your full support and love in this process. 'Crying, screaming and being sad are not things I would do. That is not me. 'I will stand by my cause until the end. I am just one of many who are being harmed - I hope I am the last.'
A lawyer representing Karaarslan also issued a statement on social media regarding the alleged sex tape release, claiming that the video had been generated using AI.
'A montaged video was published on social media, which was not the original and was created entirely through artificial intelligence from someone else's social media account and has no relation to the client in any way.'
Meanwhile, Süper Lig referee inspector Erdemir claimed that the circulated video had a negative impact on his career, and the career has now been destroyed.
'My career as a referee and observer, which I have proudly maintained for over 30 years without a single stain, has been turned upside down because the relevant person shared the information,' 'My reputation in the eyes of my family, circle of friends, and the refereeing community has been destroyed.
Erdemir served as a FIFA referee from 1999 to 2002, officiating games in Turkey's Super Lig before transitioning to an observer role for fellow officials.
