Alexander-Arnold has been a major target for Real Madrid over the last few years as Los Blancos look to improve on the aging Dani Carvajal.

A Spanish outlet, AS, has reported that the transfer is almost finalized, with Real Madrid confident that the player will join at the end of the season. Although Madrid aimed to secure a deal in January due to their injury issues, they now recognize that a summer transfer is the only viable option with the defender wanting a proper farewell season at Anfield.

However, sources close to Liverpool maintain that no agreement has been reached. It is understood that the player's only discussions have been regarding his future with Liverpool.

The 26-year-old defender has been with the Reds since 2004, joining the first team in 2016. He quickly became a fan favorite because of his accurate crosses and effective set pieces.

Since then, Alexander-Arnold has achieved significant success, winning the Champions League trophy in 2019 and the Premier League title the following year. He has also secured an FA Cup and two League Cups.

Liverpool is currently facing contract dilemmas involving captain Virgil van Dijk and star player Mohamed Salah. Reports suggest the club management are working tirelessly to finalize  deals for the players, engaging in ongoing discussions with the relevant parties in each case.
