The brother-in-law of Real Madrid star Endrick has been reportedly shot dead in a targeted gun attack on Christmas Day.
Bet Football on Bet365According to the Sun, a man named Mauricio Nunes Goncalves was killed in a hail of bullets at a street bar in Samambaia, near the capital, Brasília. The 38-year-old is reportedly the brother of Lavinia Sudre's partner, who is Endrick's older sister. He is being referred to as the 18-year-old's brother-in-law.
Mauricio was shot multiple times in the head while attempting to escape a targeted gun attack. Lavinia changed her Instagram profile picture to one featuring a black ribbon after learning about the horrific murder that occurred early yesterday morning. She also posted a photo of the victim, naming him under the picture before adding, 'You left beautiful memories in our hearts that we will never forget.'
It was further reported that the witnesses reported to the police that there was no prior argument between the gunman and his victim, describing the incident as a cold-blooded execution. Police are currently investigating the murder, but there haven't been any reports of an arrest yet.
The 18-year-old Brazilian international transferred to Real Madrid from Palmeiras this summer in a deal valued at up to £60 million. However, he has received limited playing time since joining the La Liga club. So far, he has made only 15 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Endrick has started just one game for Los Blancos.
Reports from Spain suggest that the Brazilian player could leave the club on loan in January. He was linked with a move to Southampton; however, it seems unlikely that Endrick will depart this season.
