Bet on The FIFA World Cup 2022 with 1xBetWhen and where is the 2022 World Cup?
The FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place from November 20 through December 18, 2022, in Qatar. After the event in South Korea and Japan in 2002, this will be the second World Cup held in Asia and the first World Cup ever to be contested in the Arab world. It will be played in a shorter time frame of late November to mid-December because of the extreme summer heat in Qatar. All eight stadiums are 40 miles and 50 minutes drive apart from the Qatari capital. When Qatar acquired the hosting rights in 2010, six of the eight stadiums were not in existence which is impressive. The eight stadiums in Qatar are:
Khalifa International Stadium
The renovated Khalifa Stadium, which completed its renovation last year and is now one of the most modern sports venues on earth. It can seat 40,000. The newly-renovated Khalifa International Stadium has already received many grand events since its inauguration in 1976. On May 17th, 2017 after an extensive renovation period which lasted over 2 years the historic stadium played host to one such event - The Amir Cup Final between two popular clubs from Qatar: Al-Rayyan vs Al Mesaimeer.
Al Bayt Stadium
The FIFA World Cup 2022™ Opening Match will be played at Al Bayt Stadium, which was designed with the rich culture and history of Qatar in mind. To welcome guests from all over, Qatar hired an architecture firm that specializes in rich fabrics and tradition-bearer buildings like this one!
Lusail Stadium
Imagine a stadium so immense it can accommodate 80,000 fans at once – and still have room for more! The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Final will be played here in December 2022; afterward, it is said that the space will be used as an educational center with schools, shops/cafés, etc., sporting facilities & health clinics.
Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium
The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Umm Al Afaei stands proudly as one of Qatar’s most historic cities and home to the famous Al Rayyan SC. It is located right on edge desert, where many tales from this tiny but vibrant nation live close by. It is the perfect home for Al Rayyan SC when the tournament ends.
Al Janoub Stadium
Built for football, Al Janoub Stadium lies in the southern city of Al Wakrah. One of Qatar’s oldest continuously inhabited areas with a rich history but set onlooking towards its new horizon—the future games that are coming soon to be played at this stadium!
Al Thumama Stadium
The Al Thumama Stadium is a spectacular venue with an imaginative shape that celebrates local culture and traditions as well as the new era of stadium design. The bold, circular form of Al Thumama Stadium reflects the traditional gahfiya - an integral part of family life and central to traditions.
Education City Stadium
Education City stadium is a place where Qatar’s position as an intellectual hub shines through. The venue itself has been empowered by its proximity to nearby universities, which lie at the heart of Education City - one big network for learning and knowledge generation!
Stadium 974
Stadium 974 made history before its first match. Constructed entirely from shipping containers and modular steel, this stadium is a revolutionary new design that will set the world standard for cost-effective sustainability

What is the World Cup 2022 format?
Similar to former tournaments, the World Cup 2022 will have a 32-team group stage to reduce the field to 16 teams; only the two best teams from each group advance to the round of 16. The 16 teams from the group stage will continue to the knockout phases (Round of 16; quarterfinal; semifinal; final); the winner advances while the loser is eliminated. Every knockout-round match must have a winner on the day, with games going to extra time and penalties if the regular time result is a draw.
During the group stage, there may be up to four matches per day, played at different times throughout the day. For the sake of maintaining the integrity of the competition, only the matches played on the last day of each group-stage game will overlap.
