Gareth Southgate

Gareth Southgate's odds of becoming the next Manchester United manager are considered the second favorite with bookmakers after rumors of Thomas Thuchel talking with United about returning to management at Old Trafford. Southgate is a highly respected individual who is admired by many within Old Trafford. He has previously talked about stepping down from his position as England's head coach after the Euro 2024 tournament, which marks his eight-year tenure. If he decides to leave his position after this summer's tournament, he would be in high demand, especially after leading England to the final of Euro 2020, coming closer than anyone else to ending their trophy drought. However, Southgate hasn't managed a club team since 2009, when he left Middlesbrough. During his time at the club, he led them to fourth place in the championship, despite being relegated from the Premier League, before he was replaced by Gordon Strachan. 

Graham Potter

Graham Potter Since leaving Chelsea, he has not secured any coaching roles, but he remains a strong contender for the Manchester United job. In September 2022, Potter was appointed to lead Chelsea during the new Todd Boehly era. Having earned a reputation as one of the Premier League's best young coaches during his time at Brighton, the 48-year-old had a promising start as Chelsea manager. However, despite considerable investment in the January transfer window, the team struggled for consistency and failed to deliver the desired results. Potter managed a total of 31 games at Chelsea across all competitions, with only 12 ending in victories, eight draws, and 11 defeats.
