According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal will be an initial loan until the end of the season, but it will also include an option for Villa to sign Rashford permanently for a pre-agreed fee, which is understood to be £40 million.
Villa is set to cover 70 percent of his wages, and the loan agreement will include bonuses for progressing in Europe and qualifying for the Champions League next season.
The 27-year-old forward has been frozen out from Ruben Amorim's squad since December 12 and has been pushing for an exit from Old Trafford before the January transfer window shuts on Monday night. He had announced earlier his intention to leave Manchester United on New Year’s Eve.
Villa has been searching for a forward after selling striker Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League late last month.
Marcus Rashford, who has scored 138 goals for Manchester United in 426 senior appearances, bid farewell to his teammates on Saturday. Rashford has been with United since he was eight years old and has never played senior club football for any other team.
