Argentinian World Cup winner Lionel Messi was in action for Inter Miami on Saturday night, securing a crucial point in their MLS opener. In the 10th minute of second-half stoppage time, Messi skillfully weaved through New York City FC's defense and set up Telasco Segovia for a dramatic goal.

However, Messi's frustration boiled over after the final whistle, as the Argentine star was visibly furious. Cameras captured him engaging in a heated exchange with match official Rosendo Mendoza, which ultimately led to the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner receiving a yellow card.

As he headed toward the sideline, NYCFC assistant Mehdi Ballouchy seemed to exchange words with Messi, sparking a heated interaction as the Miami star shielded his mouth.

Two Miami assistants stepped in to defuse the situation, and it appeared Messi was ready to walk away. However, he turned back momentarily, placing his hand on Ballouchy's neck for a few seconds. Eventually, Messi walked off, signaling for Ballouchy to follow him off the pitch.

Inter Miami faces a tight schedule as they gear up for their next challenge. On Tuesday, the team will compete in the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup first-round clash against Sporting KC, holding a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg.
