The Kolkata Knight Riders took centre stage at Knights Unplugged 2.0, as thousands of passionate fans gathered at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan to celebrate their heroes ahead of the TATA IPL 2025.
The event, held just days before KKR’s much-anticipated opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, brought together the squad, the team’s three championship trophies, and an electric crowd dressed in purple and gold.
Among the voices that set the tone for the new season were head coach Chandrakant Pandit and team mentor Dwayne Bravo, both exuding confidence and belief in the franchise’s legacy and future.
These past three years have been incredible. Winning the trophy last season was not just about the players on the field but about the entire franchise — everyone working behind the scenes, the owners, and, most importantly, the fans. Their unwavering support creates the energy that fuels this team. Now, it’s about defending our title and building on this winning culture.
Newly appointed team mentor Dwayne Bravo, who brings his wealth of T20 experience to the squad, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming campaign.
Being part of the Knight Riders family is special. I’ve led the Knight Riders in Trinidad, and we had great success there. When Venky sir approached me, the decision was easy. This franchise is one of the most respected in the world, and we’re looking forward to winning games and, hopefully, defending our trophy.
The crowd erupted in excitement as the squad, including captain Ajinkya Rahane, vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer, and CEO Venky Mysore, interacted with fans, reinforcing the deep bond between the franchise and its supporters.

The event also saw the launch of exclusive new KKR merchandise, including a retro black and gold jersey inspired by the franchise’s early seasons, much to the delight of the fans.
