Having played T20I cricket since 2018, pacer Prasidh Krishna has understood the nuts and bolts of the game -- it is not a game of overs but rather a ball. Every delivery can change the course of the match.

"T20 is not about having a great over but about just one ball - if you can keep the last ball quiet, some other bowler faces the next over," said Prasidh Krishna after picking 3-24 for Gujarat Titans against Rajasthan Royals in Match 23 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Prasidh Krishna's three-wicket haul and a majestic 82 by B. Sai Sudharsan helped Gujarat Titans secure an emphatic 58-run win over Rajasthan Royals.

Krishna said
The work we put in is showing. Great team effort, lovely we got a win. There was some extra bounce in the wicket, so I thought of making use of it. The motto is to be adaptable and read the pitch early. Honestly, it doesn't feel like somebody is not picking wickets. Not much dew here, we played a couple of practice games, there was no dew.

Sudharsan came up with a great knock, combining bustling power, and fine timing with superb placement in his 53-ball 82 that, studded with eight fours and three sixes. He shared partnerships of 80 with Jos Buttler (36) and 62 with Shahrukh Khan (36) as GT put up a solid 217/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Krishna bowled brilliantly on the red-soil pitch for 3-24 while Rashid Khan (2-37) and Sai Kishore (2-20) picked a brace each as Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 159 all out in 19.2 overs. Sanju Samson scored a 28-ball 41 while Shimron Hetmyer hammered a 32-ball 52 in the later part of the innings to keep them in the hunt.

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill praised his teammates for chipping in.

Gill said
Good total (we) put up. It was not easy, the first three fours overs, it was nipping. Sai (Sudarshan) and Jos (Buttler) batted tremendously. We'd take 220 any day. Our fast bowlers are doing a tremendous job. Everyone is chipping in. If you are having difficulties in choosing the Player of the Match, that is the hallmark of everyone chipping in. When you have bowlers like we do, captaincy becomes easy. Whosoever I bring in, they are happy to contribute.

Rajasthan Royals' captain Sanju Samson said they gave away 15-20 extra runs and lost wickets at regular intervals, which cost them the match.

Samson said
We gave away 15-20 runs extra in the bowling. When we needed momentum, we lost wickets. With Hettie (Shimron Hetmyer), sixes and fours kept coming. But I lost my wicket, and that's where we lost the game.

He said they failed to execute the plan they had made.

Samson added
We went off plan. We planned something, but they executed something else. We will have to look at that tomorrow. When you lose games, we also feel that we should have chased. Should we have done something else? But we want to be a team that wins games while chasing, not just win batting first.

Brief Scores: Gujarat Titans 217/6 in 20 overs (B. Sai Sudharsan 82, Shahrukh Khan 36; Maheesh Theekshana 2-54, Jofra Archer 1-30) beat Rajasthan Royals 159 all out in 19.2 overs (Shimron Hetmyer 52, Sanju Samson 41; Prasidh Krishna 3-24, R Sai Kishore 2-20) by 58 runs.
