Chelsea Enzo Fernandez's ex-fiancée Valentina Cervantes has opened up on her relationship with the Blues midfielder since their shocking breakup despite them having a daughter and son together.
Bet Football on Bet365Fernandez had been with Valentina Cervantes since their teenage years when the midfielder played for the Argentinian side River Plate. She became pregnant at age 19 and later moved with him to Benfica and Chelsea.
The 23-year-old player joined Chelsea for £107 million in 2023, following his World Cup victory with Argentina. He and his partner moved into a property in London with their daughter Olivia and their son Benjamin. They lived there for nearly two years before things went sour between Fernandez and his partner in October. In a recent interview with Paparazzi, Cervantes said
'Everything was fine, and suddenly one day he told me that he didn't want to be [with me] anymore. There are things that I still have to process, but that's it; I accepted it. 'When we met, I worked in an empanada restaurant and studied law. He was in River Plate and then played in the reserve team. When we moved in together, I changed jobs to a call center near the Obelisk. 'At that time I earned more than his representative gave him, we spent my entire salary, I had nothing left to save. And after 9 months I got pregnant with Olivia, I was 19 years old.'
Since the split, Fernandez has shown significant improvement in his form for Chelsea, earning a place back in the starting line-up. He has contributed three goals and eight assists in 20 appearances for the Blues. Cervantes further revealed during the interview that there is still love when asked whether she was still in love with the Chelsea star.
'I think love is still there because it is very difficult for it to leave so quickly. 'I don't depend on a man or anyone to be happy. With the company of my children I will always be happy.'
Fernandez has played 20 times for Chelsea in all competitions this season, scoring three times, and has impressively performed with the partnerships of both Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.
