England interim manager Lee Carsley has revealed that Arsenal right-back Ben White has told England to “not contact him" as the 26-year-old right-back refuses to play for the Three Lions.
Bet Football on Bet365The 26-year-old right-back has not been selected for a Three Lions squad after leaving the 2022 Qatar World Cup camp during the tournament for personal reasons. Southgate's departure following England's Euro 2024 heartbreak appeared to have opened the way for White's potential return to the national team, but his future with the national team seems to be ending.
England's new interim boss, Lee Carsley, after being asked about White's future, has revealed to reporters after a perfect 2-0 win over Finland that White has once again asked not to be contacted regarding selection.
"I've not planned to [contact him], no. We spoke about this in the squad selection. Every player that's eligible to play for England is in with a chance. As far as I was aware, he was asked to be not contacted. So, if that changes, then that'll change."
The Arsenal defender has made only four senior appearances for the Three Lions but has been impressive in all of Arsenal's fixtures in the new 2024/25 Premier League season so far.
